CalmDraft is a minimalist writing app for novelists, built to stay out of your way while you draft. It gives you a clean workspace with essential novel writing tools; notes, chapters, snapshots for version control, autosave, export options, and plenty of themes and fonts to choose from.
We recommend Chrome or Edge for linked-file autosave. Your .calmdraft project stays updated in the folder you choose. Safari and Firefox work too; CalmDraft autosaves in the browser and you download a .calmdraft copy when you save.
CalmDraft is free to use and doesn’t require an account. Your writing stays on your device, not on CalmDraft servers. Please take a moment to review the Quick guide, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy so you know how saving, backups, and local storage works.
