Create your project
CalmDraft is a minimalist writing app for novelists, designed to stay out of your way while you draft. It includes notes, chapters, checkpoints, autosave, export options, and a choice of themes and fonts.
We recommend Chrome or Edge for linked-file autosave. Your .calmdraft file stays updated in the folder you choose. Safari and Firefox are supported as well. CalmDraft autosaves in the browser, and you download a .calmdraft copy when you save.
CalmDraft is free and does not require an account. Your writing stays on your device, not on CalmDraft servers. Please review the Quick guide, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy to understand how saving, backups, and local storage work.
